Seeing that everyone in Loch Loud trusts the honest groundskeeper, Morag braggingly admits that Angus' statement is true, and when the crowd turns against her, she uses her Dragon Stone to summon a now-enormous Lela against them. Following an introductory flashback sequence showing how Rita and Lynn Loud Sr. met, became a couple, got married, and started a family ("Life is Better Loud"), the story proper begins with Lincoln teaching Lily how to obtain a breakfast burrito, since their sisters would most likely get to them first.

One of his great-cousins (from 400 years prior) was in a similar situation and became duke of the town. What Lincoln is successful at is getting audiences excited to see how his eagerness to be a Scottish duke will play out and that makes waiting for August 20 to roll around more difficult. Morag, gleeful that she has successfully exiled the Louds, proceeds to burn Aggie's journal in the fireplace to remove any evidence of her wrongdoings.
